BIKRAM YOGA – 90 minute class consisting of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room and designed to systematically work every muscle, tendon, ligament, organ, gland, cell and joint in the body, while simultaneously improving concentration, patience and determination. Instruction is conveyed through a specifically designed dialogue that engages the operational mind of practitioners enabling them to inwardly direct their attention throughout the 90 minute moving meditation. While the series is challenging, it is designed for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Room is heated to approximately 105 degrees.
HOT VINYASA – 90 minute dynamic class designed to unite movement and breath through forward bending, backward bending, balancing, seated, twisting, hip-opening and inverted postures that will be weaved together in a vinyasa flow. The primary focus is on movement from one posture to the next via breathing. This class emphasizes strength, agility, proper alignment and concentration. Music may or may not accompany instruction. PLEASE NOTE: As this class requires a fair amount of arm strength, it is recommended for safety reasons that, before attempting the class, students be able to do at least 5 modified push ups, i.e. push ups modified with your knees resting on the ground.
